THREE SIX MAFIA - STAY FLY
One of the first music videos I worked on when I arrived in LA was for a southern hip hop group know as Three Six Mafia. They had a large underground following at the time. Pretty soon, they won an Oscar for "Hustle and Flow" with worldwide stardom soon following. This is the biggest track from that group's career so far.

Bernard Gourley directed this music video and he tragically past away a few years ago. When we discussed the look of the titles that introduce the rappers, he said he was going for an Entourage meets "Go!" look, that music video from Common that was popular at the time.

It came out pretty good. I did this project in one day. From 7pm to the next day around 5pm with notes and revisions going on through the night. I spent all night working on it with very little sleep. I just drove in from Arizona that day and was still tired from the drive.

It has over 70 million views on YouTube now. It was odd hearing this song on the radio and MTV at the same time when MTV still played music videos. I enjoyed helping those artists achieve their dreams by making a music video that people enjoy to this day. It's a trip hearing people remix this song to their YouTube shorts remixes.
